The idea
A project contract is divided into milestones, each with a title and a price. The freelancer works on one, submits it, and the client reviews it. The milestone is paid only when the client approves.
Life of a milestone
Pending
The freelancer works on it. Tasks (see Tasks & Time Tracking) show progress.
Submitted
The freelancer submits the deliverables with a note. The client is notified.
Review
The client approves, or asks for changes with feedback. The freelancer fixes and submits again.
Approved and paid
The milestone price moves from the client’s wallet to the freelancer’s balance.
Clients: keep enough in your wallet
A milestone is paid from your wallet balance at the moment you approve it. If the balance is too low, approval is refused with a message. Add funds in Wallet & Funds and approve again.
If you disagree
Ask for changes first. If you cannot agree, either side can open a dispute from the contract. See Dispute Resolution.
